Chair no. 1 — the red one
Steering wheel, working horn, a seat belt that clicks. Rises high enough that a three-year-old is at working height without being lifted.
Family barber · Ricklingen, Hannover
Papa & Bande is a barber shop built at child height. Two race-car chairs, cartoons within reach, clippers that get switched on slowly — and a proper grown-up chair right beside it, so nobody has to sit alone.

The big one
A first haircut is a small event. It goes wrong when it is rushed, and it goes well when the child gets to decide the pace. This is how we do it — the same way every time, so you can tell your child what is coming.
Come by, climb into the race car, honk the horn, hold the switched-off clippers. Nothing gets cut on that visit unless your child asks for it.
The clippers buzz on the back of a hand first, then on an arm, then on the neck. Your child hears the sound before they feel it.
Short bursts with breaks. Cartoons on the arm-mounted tablet, a mirror to check on you, and a stop the second it stops being fun.
We put the first lock in a small glassine envelope. Then you fill in the certificate on your phone, print it at home and glue the envelope into the pocket.
About 30 minutes, no time pressure, the lock in its envelope, and the certificate to print at home.

Prices
Cash and card, no membership, no surprise extras. A washed head, a hot towel for the grown-ups and a lollipop for whoever sat still are already in the price.
Wash, cut, styled the way they want it. Clippers, scissors or both — we ask them first.

Extra time, the first lock in a glassine envelope, and the printable Urkunde with the pocket for it.
30 min
Full cut, beard tidy, hot towel. Twenty-five minutes with nobody asking you anything.
25 min
Two chairs side by side, one appointment, 45 minutes. Whoever is braver goes first.

Holiday offer
During the Lower Saxony school holidays, Tuesday to Thursday before 12:00, every sibling pair gets a free fringe trim voucher for the weeks after. Say the word at the counter.
One voucher per family per holiday period. Not combinable with other offers.
The chairs
The chairs are the reason children come back. They are also the reason a first haircut works: a child who is holding a steering wheel is a child who is not holding their breath.

Steering wheel, working horn, a seat belt that clicks. Rises high enough that a three-year-old is at working height without being lifted.

Swings in from the side and out of the way again. Your device or ours, sound low, and it goes dark the moment the cut is finished.

The grown-up chair gets the full treatment: hot towel, proper foam, a straight-razor neck finish. Kids get the foam on the back of their hand, because it is funny.

Everything gets cleaned between customers. Yes, the toys too.

Dad & kid
Most of our appointments are two people. It is quicker than two separate trips, it costs less than two separate cuts, and a child who watches their dad go first stops being nervous somewhere around the second minute.
One 45-minute slot, two chairs side by side. Coffee for the grown-up, tablet for whoever is waiting.
Two kids in one slot, one after the other. Bring the second one; it never works to leave them at home.
On your own, then. Cut, beard tidy, hot towel, and twenty-five minutes of nobody needing anything.
Buggies fit through the door and park inside. There is a changing mat in the back and a step in front of the basin.
Book a slotReviews
Second attempt at a first haircut after a disaster somewhere else. Tobi let him sit in the car for ten minutes and do nothing. Went home with a haircut and a certificate. My wife cried at the pocket with the lock in it.

Two boys, one appointment, out in forty minutes. The waiting one gets the tablet and I get a coffee. That is the whole trick and nobody else round here does it.

Went for my own cut and stayed for the fade. Proper barber work, not a kids' shop that also cuts adults. Booked the dad-and-kid slot for next time.

Fringe trim between cuts costs nothing, which for a four-year-old who cuts her own fringe is worth actual money to me.

Book
Tuesday to Saturday. Kids' cuts before 11:00 usually work without an appointment, but a slot means no waiting at the door with a three-year-old.
We never ask for your child's name on this form. Not here, and not on the certificate — read on.
The twist
A proper Urkunde on one sheet of A4: the first name, the date, who did the cutting — and a fold-out pocket to glue the first lock into. Fill it in, print it, and it goes on the wall or in the box under the bed.
Your child's name never leaves this device
The certificate is put together in your browser. Nothing you type here is sent to us, saved on a server, written to a cookie or logged anywhere. Close the tab and it is gone. That is why we ask for a first name only — no surname, no date of birth, no photo.
This form is for the grown-up. Please fill it in yourself rather than handing the phone over.
First name only. It is printed on the certificate and nowhere else.
Prints as one A4 page. Choose "background graphics" in the print dialog if the colours come out white.
